All that I can say about (matt) James Arness is he was a legend of an actor and Gunsmoke still is one of my favourite shows which airs here in auss every day, if im not home i record it. I loved James Arness and will miss him although never met him. The rest of the cast were incredible as well, my favourites being Festus and Doc. Rest in Peace Matt Dillon because you were the legend,
Thank you for showing him our apperication as the news media had very little to say about his passing! If he had been a sports celerbity oh yeah they would still be talking about him but he was from the good ole days of tv.Thanks
They used to shoot the interiors back in the 70's at CBS off Fairfax across from the Farmers Market at 3rd and Fairfax Ave.So as a kid I would see him on occasion at the Farmers market. He would by candy from where my grandmother worked at the time. The famous Carson's Candy Kitchen, long gone but an institution for candy aficionados at the time.
Magnifico!

Like John Wayne, James is irreplaceable like the westerns they used to make. Nobody was like him anywhere.
