"Im going by myself. You guys stay here okay?" I said advancing for a black building.
"No way, were coming with you!" Nick rebelled, anger flaring through his face.
"Nick, No."
"I am coming, no matter what you say." He insisted and walked forward. I grabbed his hand, I couldnt let my little brother potentially risk his life.
"Nick I said No!" I said firmly.
"Why? Why cant I? You think youre the only one who loves Grace? Shes our best friend! We want her back safe just like you do, why are you being so adamant on being Superman? Youre not Superman Joe, youre not." He gushed in a fit of fury.
"Nicholas youre not coming." I ordered
"You cant force me."
"FOR MOM AND DADS SAKE!" I shouted. He was testing my patience and the only thing I could do was to keep him under an oath. Hes my baby brother and Kelly was an amazing girl. I couldnt risk their future. I had to go alone.
"Why did you do that Joe?" he asked after a minute, disappointment and sadness washing over his face.
"Its for your own good. Be strong, bro. And if anything...anything happens to me, look after everyone. I love you." I turned away and advanced towards the black building.
"Wait, Joe. What do you mean?" I heard Kelly call out.
"Its dangerous, I just know it." I replied and entered the building.
The room was dark, only an exit door that was slightly open provided some light. The whole building was just one big room, with about 20 small boxes here and there. Adrenaline was pulsing thick through my vein, tension seizing my mind.
"Im glad you made it, but by yourself? Where are those friends of yours?" A scruffy looking man appeared through a door from the side, he had a bulky figure and from what I could see a deep scar running down his face.
"Who are you, and wheres Grace?" I instinctively shuffled backwards, trying not to let my voice give away my apprehension.
"Sorry, I didnt introduce myself. Im Peter. Oh yes and Grace...is that the name she made up? Hmm... pretty unusual name, Grace. Really doesnt fit Nicole that well," by this point I was beyond confused. What did he mean by a name she made up? And who was Nicole?
"Where-where is she?" I asked, still moving back as he was moving forward
"She...is...Dead!" The moment he said that, my heart physically stopped. There was no pain what so ever. Just numbness and emptiness. My brain couldnt process anything, what was going around me, what people were saying. I just stood there, frozen. Trying to process what he had just said. Dead. She...was...dead. He went on explaining how she saw him murder, how she was relocated and how they found her again and...killed her. I just couldnt digest a word he was saying. Still as a statue I stood there as I heard what they had planned for me. Strangely I was prepared to go away and be with her. Yes, if they do what they are saying they will do to me then Ill be with my Grace. Fuck sex, popularity and fame. Ill be with my Grace and will be able to fulfil my promise to be with her Forever and Always. Once I got there I will ask God to give Mom and Dad the strength and to look after my brothers. Im sure after a while they will be able to cope without me. I was prepared. In my last moments of my life I saw two other men appearing from the door, each one holding a baseball bat. The both looked like body builders even if I tried to fight then off, I would surly lose. But I was ready to surrender; I wanted to be with my Grace. I closed my eyes and inhaled. I said a few prays to God asking him to protect my family and lessen the grievance. The footsteps were getting closer and closer and then stood still. All I heard was a grunt from one of the men, probably swinging their bat up and then he swung...
