  • It's difficult to imagine a dad reacting like that, today, especially with his son being a veteran.

And, the tantrum the "soldier" threw in the car, smacking the dash, wasn't believable.

I liked the twist from thinking the son had been killed, to surviving injury. I also liked them greeting the parents in a wheel chair, and the dad saying "Hello son."

Having grown up in Arkansas, it was neat to see this filmed there, and that Bentonville has such an event.

And, hIs boyfriend was cute. :)

  • @beeblmeyer : Would you believe me if I said in our debut screening, that an entire family was rounded up by their father and escorted out of the venue? Immediately upon seeing the two guys in the hallway. Didn't even wait for the ending. 2 or 3 small kids and his wife. Thanks for the feedback, it is much appreciated.

  • @tmpyron

Perhaps I was wrong. I've been gone from Arkansas more than 19 years, thank the dog. Yes, I would believe you.

Funny you should mention that. I'm in the midst of a conversation about the Duggars, at the moment, and their idiocy.

More feedback for you - get the fuck out of Arkansas, and join the 21st century. It's great out here.

    Good luck.

Ah! That is a long time. I lived in San Francisco for 6 years and came back for family reasons. I've learned to love this place, as it is my home, and feel that I might be able to impart change more effectively here than other places. So I choose to stay, and yes, it can be a challenge to be in the face of so many who are less accepting. But we all have our vices, I as well. I like to think that I stand for freedom, and am in good company here in that respect. Best of luck.

  • Hey Tom -- solid short, impressive and ambitious for a 72 hour competition with two wins. Were there really over 2000 teams? Wow. Glad to see your keeping busy working on projects - best on the other side with your scripts. Best-

  • @prauphet : 2000 teams? No, more like 8. I try to stay busy with anything other than work. Thanks!

Arkansas is, indeed, a beautiful place. I absolutely love the Ozarks, and try to get out and revisit with my parents when I go home to visit. I'm hoping to revisit Eureka Springs while home around the holidays, but I'm not sure. I wish there were some way for me to reconcile, and find inner peace and still live there, but other factors beyond my control have taken over now.

I admire your words and effort, tmpyron. I wish you the very best of luck in all of your pursuits.

    Cheers~

  • Daddy may get another chance, but it pisses me off that he reacts that way after his son put his life on the line in service to this country and still has to deal with such hatred. yes, hatred.

    Great movie! Great!

  • This is so touching :( Especially to think the call was that he had died, & that he could have but thankfully he's still there & his dad can give another chance. Awesome job!!!

  • Well done! Thanks!
