Dasaniyamaha meaning the Ten Rules is based on the Ten Commandments of the Bible, this is one of Rani's masterpiece composition, where the cause and effects of breaking the rule reflects stories from the Bible, a research by her sons Swithin www.gevacomedyimprov.blogspot.com and Sumithrin www.sumitdavid.com. This was performed in 2000 by 'the awesome foursome' Edwina Tina Reshma Shirani. Concept and lyrics by Rani; music by Lalitha Swaminathan and Michael Fernando. A repeat performance in Tamil Nadu Jan 2007. Other unique Christian choreography: Navarasa in Christ's life, emotions of pregnant Mary, 5 women in Christ's life, navarasa penmanigal -- nine woman characters of Old Testament and New Testament, the Kurathi who searched for Yesu and many many more. As of Sept 2007, out of 485 staged dances, 96 are on Christian themes.

  • bharatha natya shasthram composed by a hindu sage called bharatha muni, progenitor of this dance form is lord nataraj and his consort uma devi, so please indian christians kindly stay away from our religion which you have rejected, now aren't you shame or being hypocrite to adopt our hindu elements, why don't you dance the jew, or the abrahamic dances.

  • extremely eyecatch.great to glorify the lord in our culture

  • isn't the ten commandments universal?

  • I am in total agreement with you

  • agreed.

  • Its undeniable that Bharatanatyam has its origin from the Indian arts form and has been historically connected to Hinduism. However, any dance in its pure form transcends beyond religious boundaries. A number of negative comments here seem to be motivated by religious radicalism and prejudices. Bharatanatyam is universal form of art which transcends beyond the earthly understanding. So, quit being fanatics and be happy tht its continuously mastered by people of various religion and culture.

  • you MIGHT AS WELL DO A HINDU DANCE AFTER ALL YOU ARE EMBRACING A HINDU DANCE FORM YOU ALL ARE CONFUSING PEOPLE OUT THERE STICK TO WHAT YOU KNOW IN CHRISTIANITY DON'T USE HINDU DANCE TO PROPAGATE CHRISTIANITY WHO ARE U FOOLING THIS IS IN POOR TASTE.

  • what is "shantiji" on about? as far as i can see their wearing temple jewllery the right jewellery costume are not ugly but would prefer skirt costume in stead of pants. love the braid. very traditional.

  • is Bharathanatyam biblical? i have seen demon manifestation during prayer thru someone who was possessed and she began to dance bharathanatyam. She got delivered and stopped practising the dance.

  • For all those that dance in the name of the Most High God, may you be blessed and be a blessing; forever! In Jesus' name I pray, amen. -rjh
