Nanodiamond is a promising material for medical applications -- it is highly biocompatible and easily conjugated with bioactive molecules. The last few years have seen tremendous progress in nanodiamond-based techniques, such as cellular imaging and drug delivery. Del Mar Photonics Trestles LH10 femtosecond/CW laser installed at Harvard University is used for STED microscopy of nanodiamonds for optical bioimaging.
