  • Wanted to add that the dialyzers have the formaldehyde rinsed out before using on the patient again.

  • Dialysis nurses and reuse technicians are also exposed to formaldehyde. One of the disagreeable hazards of that profession is having accidental spills, when the lines become disconnected from the dialyzer, on the way to the machine.

    Dialyzers are packed in it so that they can be reused 30 or more times to save on the cost of the treatment.
