You should eventually overcome that fear. Medicine is a passion, if you really into helping people and caring then you are in the right track. Yes it is a comittment: you will sacrifice long hours of your life, vacations, events...etc However you will have self satisfaction. In my vision medicine is like no other profession, in the amount of satisfaction you feel when you recognize that you really helped others, or helped in saving people lives.Good luck.

As a premed student I want to be a Family/General practitioner or Pediatricians, but I am afraid of blood and operations. Can I be able to overcome this fear when I start training in the hospital?
The cons seem very daunting compared to the pros. Just entering university, and am considering this since I am working towards a biology major. The salary is glorious, but the high amounts of stress seems inevitable.
