  • When Filipinos say they're Pacific Islanders, I die a little inside. Not that I'm condemning Pacific Islanders but that not the truth about Filipinos. This just shows that they don't even know their country's history and their origin.

  • THEY ARE ASAIN THEY DONT LOOK LIKE ME OR ANY OF MY 100 COUSINS.

  • They are Asians period.

  • i really have no idea whether we are pacific islanders or asian. like the video has said, filipinos are filipinos. we are not the same to the asian culture, and we are not the same with pacific islanders.

  • @deeeEeEEEeEee33eem Genetic sequencing and cultural artifact have validated the migration path of Austronesians along the Pacific shorelines encompassing parts of Southeast Asia to islands in the Pacifics extending to islands of Philippines, Micronesians, Polynesian, and Melanesians. The Philippines have adopted some culture, and limited genetic mixing, from Chinese and Spaniards, but for the large part, Filipinos are still Austronesians and should be proud of the gentic and cultural ties.

  • @MeAnnoyYou I do accept that because it makes us unique even though the history of it is harsh. Are you saying that we’re pretty much Spaniards? XD Kinda confused cuz we went from Asian to History to Acceptance. :P and cuz we’re kinda getting off topic here since the main topic is about the main geographical terms for a Filipino since geographically wise, phils is in Asia and ancestors are south east asians or from the "Malay Race". Ain’t it cool that the background of our country is so rich :)

  • @MeAnnoyYou I actually grew up in the Philippines and moved after grade 6 so yes, Grade 6 sounds a little young to know these things but over there, we're bombarded with info even at the early years. I know a bit, maybe not in depth of what people learn in high school there but yeah :). Philippines came from the name Philip who was the King of Spain when philippines was colonized by the spaniards. And th demonym is obvious from then. also t'was originally las islas filipe or filipinas forgt whch

  • as far as i know the people who lives in a country that belongs to asian continent is ASIAN even if you dont have the "typical" whatsoever asian feature.

  • @FallingSky7 Guam is a Pacific Island as it is located in Micronesia. But I agree that the Phillipines is an Asian country, and most Pacific Islanders would think the same too.

  • Man you would only ask that question if you didn't grow or come out of the Philippines.

  • try go to the philippines and ask everyone if filipinos asian or pacific islander? i think they would answer they're asian.....
