A fastener such as a Nut and bolt, Or washer has a series of spikes or teeth on a bearing surface which is engageable with a workpiece. The spikes or teeth can grip the workpiece to lock the fastener against relative rotation with respect to the workpiece.

  • Thought about how you're going to produce those? Would be way to expensive compared to the minimal effect of the spikes. This is a stupid idea. Normal nuts and bolts work as they have to work. If they loosen it is because of incorrect fastening.

  • @haarsje The gripping points or teeth on the nuts, bolts and washers on this idea would be applied in the same manufacturing process. A good company stamps and embosses their name on the rim of the nuts and bolts. By the way spring washers, crimped washers and most locking washers are " stupid" ideas they just flatten, they don't grip because they don't penetrate the mating surface.

  • anyone ever hear of a Tee-Nut?

  • @jjlwis I do know about the Tee-Nut but it is designed to be used for soft materials such as wood.My bolt is hi tencile and designed to penetrate mild steel and it has a granted Patent.

  • This product shows great promise, as there is nothing on the market that comes close. When fastening with limited access, this invention will make locking nuts and bolts a breeze. Where is the manufacturer and/ or supplier, because I want some post haste..

  • i m a student in civil eng ........i wish this type of invention comes in play soon .....because such inventions can realy help all of us in our practical life.......n the time period of our work will also b longer n stronger...:)

  • People never heard of loctite?...

  • @jeffwastebin What you say is not true. You clearly don't know about production processes. Your idea would be ridiculously expensive and locking washers are perfect as they are now. You must consider yourself a genius saying bolts nuts and washers don't work properly now and in the 100 years they have proven their point more times then you can even imagine. I stick with it. Looks "good' in a video, but it's worth nothing. Good luck.

  • has like one use, pretty useless.

  • Wish this invention could be on the market soon, which could save more time and make more convenience.
