HINOI Team - IKE IKE (English subbed)

This is the title tune of their debut single "IKE IKE" (May 2005) and its coupling tune is "Sing Na Na Na". [It is contained also in their album "Super Euro Party" (March 2006).] This song was used as the ending theme of Japanese Anime "Ichigo 100%" (April--June 2005). It is a cover version of the original song by Tri-Star that is contained in Vol. 1 (September 1999) of "EUROMACH" (a series of Eurobeat compilation albums released from "cutting edge").

This is a video of their live performance. It is surprising that their singing is scarcely disturbed by hard dancing. For this reason some people suspect that they are doing lip sync. But it is not true. If you compare it with the singing recorded in the disc, you'll realize that this is the entirely different singing from that. We can confirm it by finding their slight vibration of voice at 1:20-24 along with the movement of dancing. They are REALLY SINGING on this stage (though the back chorus and instrumental accompaniment are recorded ones).

Some people wrote on the comment boards for other videos of "IKE IKE" by HINOI Team that the instrumental accompaniment of this song was very similar to that of "We Like to Party" (1998) by Vengaboys. I think it isn't coincidence, because in a later version of this song by Tri-Star the words "We Like to Party" appear before the singing begins. The similarity is intentional. For "IKE IKE" is a song that represents the feelings of a girl who is going to dance "Party" (if we may call a discotheque a place for "Party").

The CDs (single "IKE IKE" and album "Super Euro Party") containing this song are available in Japan even now. If you live in the other country, you can buy them at REASONABLE prices through internet from "YesAsia". Search it. You can buy it also from Amazon, but the prices of imported CDs at Amazon are too high.
