treats don't always work, my bird doesn't respond to treats or food at all, here are some ideas. don't put food in his cage, and leave it there. what you do is feed him, hang around, since even more timid parakeets will go to the food bowl when hungry, and while he's eating, talk to him and prove a little trust. over time put your finger up to him while hes eating to show you mean no harm at all. when he's done, take the food out, when he's hungry again he will anticipate your arrival with food!

I cant get my bird out of the cage but then she flys off my finger and i cant get her back in so i have to use the towel D: i dunno what to do when she is out of the cage to keep her from not flying off my finger and into things

remove all the toys, food, and other distractions . lure him with a millet stick .

forget what these dumb bitches have to say, first thing is you need to hand feed him or her with your hand oviuosly.. the second step is that birds do not have fingers like we do so they use their beak to test you.. they do not bite! if you back your hand away your gonna loose one peice of trust!

Mine does the same thing. Just don't feed him for about 5 hours then put it in front of him. I guess he sense the movement but he won't care if he's really hungry. It's been 2 years since this video but oh well.:P At least I can help other people.=D

Hold a cluster of millet spray with one hand and get the bird on your finger. once on your finger offer him the millet spray slowly. once he starts eating slowly bring him out. This workes for me with my shy bird in only thirty minutes of hand traing.

Mine does exactly the same thing. I have an Albino Keet and I think he doesnt see very well cause when I manage to get him out he flies into the walls or windows. But he knows exactly where the cage is since thats the only place he wants to be. lol.

how do u get it to get the bird in ur finger i cant they bite me or they fly away

Put Spray Millet Out of The Cage And Put The Food Out Side So It Will Have To Comee Out For Food.

once he is on ur finger, just stay still. take him for a ride around the cage. pick him u then set him down. do this for about 5 days. if not just keep hm in one stop in the cage on ur finger. talk to him while ur doin it. takin to them helps them stay calm. hope this helps.

(Continued) It will most likely jump off and return in the cage... Try again. Slowly. After 4 -5 tries, stop, congratulate your bird and try again later. Don't be pushy. One day it will come out. When it does come out of the cage, don't try to drag it away from the cage too far for now. Let it get used to being out. Oh, and leave the cage's door open, and put some spray millet on the top of the cage. Maybe it will eventually climb out and go eat it.
It takes lots of time and patience.
