@DisposableWarrior: you are right about putting it in a low range gear, but that is way too steep to just left off the brake. the Cayenne would have flown into the puddle, ruining the front end.

the drive can't drive. put the car in first and take feet off the brake. let the engine and the 4wheel drive take care of everything.

Agreed, With traction control and all that, select low range 1st gear, and let the engine do the braking.
