  • if you check the voltage at the light bulbs terminals you will see that the voltage is going up, because the current is cut much faster at higher frequencies...look up how switch mode power supplies are working...The magnet has the same effect on the relay like putting a stronger spring on the armature...decreasing magnetic permeability (i guess)...

  • use a mosfet instead, they dont make noise and wont wear, its not hard to build a pwm with a ne555 timer

  • This is stupid experiment. He makes reley to oscilate slower or faster so current will be higher or lower. Where is here conection with radian energy? Contact on reley will be closed longer or shorter in time and coused to current be higher or lower.

  • Just use a high frequency coil, or a Tesla coil :)

  • amperage is coming down, but frequency is coming up...

we should check, if we really use less energy with this circuit... but this is very intresting.

  • magnetic quenching of the spark gap. Tesla did this. Go dig in to his works to see what other nifty things he did.

  • So you were drawing 1.5A x 12V = 18W which is about right for those two lamps. Then you tune it with the magnet down to a quarter amp which is 0.25A x 12V = 3W. Amazing!!

Now if you can get it to do that without all the noise then you have cracked it.

  • need schematic.."

  • Next stop--- two coils. Go out and buy a good pair of sun glasses. This is getting fun.

  • Good job and thank you for posting this video.
