    use a mosfet instead, they dont make noise and wont wear, its not hard to build a pwm with a ne555 timer

    This is stupid experiment. He makes reley to oscilate slower or faster so current will be higher or lower. Where is here conection with radian energy? Contact on reley will be closed longer or shorter in time and coused to current be higher or lower.

    So you were drawing 1.5A x 12V = 18W which is about right for those two lamps. Then you tune it with the magnet down to a quarter amp which is 0.25A x 12V = 3W. Amazing!!

    Now if you can get it to do that without all the noise then you have cracked it.
