The 3D trailer for the DreamWorks animated film "Monsters Vs Aliens" that was shown during the 2009 Superbowl. Best if viewed with 3D glasses, because this is the real 3D version of the commercial.

When a meteorite from outer space hits a young California girl named Susan Murphy and turns her into a giant monster, she is taken to a secret government compound where she meets a ragtag group of monsters also rounded up over the years. As a last resort, under the guidance of General W.R. Monger, on a desperate order from The President, the motley crew of Monsters is called into action to combat the aliens and save the world from imminent destruction!

This will be the first computer animated movie which will be produced in real 3-D instead of converting the film into 3-D after it is finished. Monsters vs. Aliens is stars the voices of Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Hugh Laurie, Seth Rogen, Will Arnett, Rainn Wilson, Stephen Colbert with Kiefer Sutherland and Jimmy Kimmel. The film is scheduled for a March 27, 2009 release.

  • it wnt wrk with real D

  • Really? You do need the yellow/blue glasses from the Superbowl, not the red/blue ones that many places use. Maybe that's your problem.

  • actually u need the red blue for this real d is some kind of other thing not related to the cheap classes

  • Just a reminder, as I said before, you need the yellow/blue glasses (the kind that was given out by SoBE during the 2009 Superbowl) to view this correctly.

I'm not sure where you can get yellow/blue glasses now that SoBE is no longer giving them away.

  • @vegrox I think it's a certain type of glass that they use with the Real D movie screens that really drives home the effect...we'll just have to wait and see if they do the same for 'at home' experience

  • Real D glasses use an entirely different technology (polarization) than red/blue or yellow/blue glasses.

This commercial was done using yellow/blue so though Real D is much better, Real D glasses are essentially useless for viewing it.

  • i saw this in the cinema with real D glasses thats where i got mine from but for some reason this clip is not done in real D glasses but those crapped coloured one RED/BLUE or YELLOW/BLUE ones are horrible can't see the pictures well coz different colour everything blue red etc the new real d one are much better still coming out at you type 3D but without the sh*t colours.

  • i saw this yesterday hilarios!

  • for THIS trailer you have to use the red blue

    the movie requires real d

  • doesnt work for me either
