he hardline policies Hu Jintao has overseen in Tibet and towards the Dalai Lama may have backfired.

1989, he declared martial law and presided over a military response that did not hesitate from shooting dead those who tried to resist. The same year, student demonstrations broke out on Tiananmen Square, and their even more ruthless repression stopped political reform in its tracks.

And in this 21st Century Hu Jintao & Chinese Communist Party Hardliner still carry out more and more Ruthless polices in Tibet.

I think it is all linked with China being a permanent member of UNSC therefore, there is no voice in the world against brutality in Tibet.

Very sad to see it is still happening in 21st century and the rest of world haven't been doing much to something about it. Tibetan has the right to govern and live their own especially in their own country; It has been an evil for China to take over the region and have taken away their freedom. I hope soon, there would be justice for those people.

Ah, this brings back the memories of the pompous liberal-drivel we called news BEFORE that little financial meltdown of ours. Now, the liberals are awfully quiet about Tibet.
