Look, do you guys want to know what happened? He was perceived as a threat by some of the local influential people in town. That's it. Either they were jealous, or they felt threatened by him, or he refused to pay them off. That's it. Just corrupt shit. This happens all the time in undeveloped countries. The founder of McAfee had the police raid his house in Belize and break down his front door with guns drawn just because he refused to pay a bribe to a local politician.

If this man is truly innocent then I hope he is released as soon as possible. But if he was arrested for not paying off the right officials and police, then I have little sympathy for him as this is standard practice when conducting illegal activity in places like this. Always pay off your local officials first, then get to business.

Nicaragua is totally fucked. I lived there for 2 years. First Eric Volz now Jason, the country has a legal system that is in shambles. Just be glad you live in a first world country with due process.
