I am glad Vernon Schillinger has been properly rehabilitated and is currently employed by Farmers Insurance. I believe companies receive a tax credit for hiring ex-convicts.

Why did they convict him for doing a public service like that? If some crack dealer was in my neighborhood (thankfully there are none) I'd buy him dinner right after I explained to the cops how the dealer tripped on his shoelace and Vern tried to help him up.

I don't know what the assault laws are in Canada, but it's probably somewhat comparable to your country.

Personally, I think that five years if you paralyze the person, ruining their life forever, is a very lax sentence.

sounds really harsh

in my country you can get 3 years for assault, 5 years if you leave your victim paralyzed or shit, you can only as much as 8 years if your victim nearly dies
