Roland Barthes described writing as 'a multidimensional space' in which a number of meanings (none of them original) blend and clash. Personally I am more interested in the idea that writing, like knowledge, might be said to exist metaphorically in 3-dimensional phenomenological space. Some of it is up close and personal; some is distant and objective. Some is low to the ground and the centre of the individual; some is elevated, intersubjective, and convergent.
Isn't this a plot device in Batman RIP?
