I have a 'Effects engine failed to load. Checksume 2 is Invalid' error on my 5000. This is after using the effects and causing a load buzzing sound which wouldnt stop. On boot up and even after trying to reset factoty settings i get the error message and no sound generated by the machine so it is useless. Does anyone know how to resolve this and is this toy just a really bad joke as im reading no-end of problems people have had with it? I want my thousand £££££'s bad Akai. Korg never let me down

@sexyduck69 In terms of availability, akai 2000/2500 is good... akai stopped making the 4000, but if you can find it used, then THAT is a good workstation.... i don't know about any roland products, but i'm sure they have good drum machines too
