Laura was the greatest singer songwriter that ever lived.

I LOVE this intense, and powerful song! I consider "Been on a train" to be the even darker sequel to this. "Poverty" is very serious, but "Been on" is just pure heart wrenching sadness all the way through. I'm thankful that Laura herself never OD'd. Cancer cut her Earthy journey far too short, which absolutely destroys me every time I think about it, but at least she made it to 49, where many of her peers never saw 30. Thank you for those years of sharing your music with us, beautiful Angel!

One of the most powerful songs I had ever heard back then in 1969. A friend of mine from NYC turned me on to her, and have loved her ever since.
Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2012!
About time!
Time and Love....Right?

@Buckspring95 Wasn't it "Been on a Train" about the OD? The OD occurred in 1969 and Poverty Train was written in 1967. Could be about his addiction though.
Do you have anything else from this concert? I hear she occasionally performed
"Cowboys to Girls..." in concert...would LOVE to hear, if anyone has a tape...This
was a powerful song, apparently written after a cousin overdosed...

Hi, yeah I have the whole concert but no "Cowboys to Girls". Never heard a live version of that song either... ;)
