The moment she was selected as the Republican vice presidential candidate, Sarah Palin became one of the most talked-about running mates of recent decades. A former beauty queen, a big game hunter, and the first-time governor of the state with the third smallest population in the country, Palin brought to the Republican ticket exactly what she was supposed to bring: attention. Everybodys talking about her, and tonight many people will be watching and listening to her in a televised debate between the two vice presidential candidates.

To find out what some of the best-informed political observers are saying about Sarah Palin, BU Today asked Linda Killian (CAS80, COM80), a College of Communication professor of journalism and director of Boston Universitys Washington Center, and Bob Zelnick, a COM professor of journalism and national security affairs, to talk about the pros and cons of Palins candidacy.
