Thanks, Marvel Sucker, for having a review of Watchmen. I saw it just a couple hours after I watched your review so I felt primed for it. I loved the movie.
Well, I've been hearing other reviewers who don't like it either. "Only fan-boys would like it" is a phrase I've heard more than once and it's probably true. I'm a big fan of the graphic novel, so I guess my opinion is skewed. But I really liked it. I haven't seen The Spirit but I'm not as much of a fan of that character anyway. If I'm ever at a movie I can't stand, I just walk out. I'm sorry you wasted your money and your time.
Glad to hear you loved it too :) I'm hanging out to go and see it again AND for the release of the 'Tales of the Black Freighter' DVD (i possibly got that name wrong). It's an animated version of the pirateish comic book in the graphic novel.
Wow...! The "Tales of the Black Freighter" DVD sounds awesome! I just knew that they wouldn't be able to incorporate that into the Watchmen movie. But the Pirate Comics thread of the story was actually quite prescient because I think Moore, in 1985, "anticipated" the boom of the Pirates of the Carribean movies franchise 20 years later. BTW, I liked your comparison of Watchmen movie/book with the LOTR movie/book relationship.
Lol....I can understand if you might suggest I curb my enthusiam. :)
I saw this shit last night & it's amazingly fucking awful, plus it was the worst since The Spirit which fucking sucked ass too.
