showing how I pick pick up stitches around a steek, using a crochet hook and circular needle. I use a needle 2x larger than I will knit with, and then pick up the loose loops on the reverse and knit these for the facing to hide the cut steek edge

  • Great help. Never would have thought to do it that way. I usually just put the knitting needle though to collect the stitch.

  • thanks! I was crocheting an edge on something knitted to avoid picking up stitches and realised the crochet loops could be turned into knitted loops -

  • I agree with Riogarcia, because everyone learns differently and some people, including myself, who are VISUAL learners, can only learn from being shown step-by-step. The advantage of visual learning is that for many people they only need to be shown a single time.Whereas people who can learn from written instructions often need to re-read several times before they can do it.

  • This is GREAT! I've never tried picking up stitches this way, and my current project is RIGHT at this point -- I'll use this method to pick up stitches for the bands on a cardigan. Thanks!

  • I wish there was some instruction to go along with your video -- the text is too small to read, and there's no voice-over. I'm not quite sure if this is the tutorial I needed.

  • Can't hear a word. Wish I could.

  • I cant read your words on the video.

  • Thanks for sharing. That is great!
