Pomplamoose performed a cover of Simon and Garfunkel's Mrs. Robinson as their fourth song at the Brainwash Cafe in San Francisco on 11/13/09.

I wonder whether Jack or Nataly will object to this song being posted. It's rough! But I love it and think it's totally fun. And it's totally a microcosm of the kind of stuff they had to deal with in only their second live show. For example:

1. Nataly's vocals aren't mixed loud enough for the audience (similar to Twice as Nice)
2. Nataly's earphones are apparently getting a bad mix, too, because she's having a hard time hearing Jack's guitar
3. As with the whole concert, the audience is packed uncomfortably close to the band. And right at the end of this song, my wife Mary (standing right in front of me to my left) accidentally bumps the base of the mic stand, and the mic bonks Nataly in the mouth. She was such a great sport about it, though, as you can see by how hard she laughs. It was a perfect topper. (Et tu, Mary?!)
4. The audience singing along with the song sounded so JOYOUS. Fun, fun, fun.

  • As far as I can tell the issue with timing was mainly because of a sound level problem. I do agree that it's a great rendition, though.

  • Omg the original was removed from youtube.

  • what happen with nataly... I can't hear the microphone

  • I got goosebumps when I listen this song ! But I can't hear her singning :S...

  • wow. turn her friggin mic up. her singing makes the song.

  • wow ....

  • I think Nataly's vocals may be reduced in your camera mic because you were behind the FOH front of house speakers. Not all bad though as it let's Jack's swirly whirly phaser geetar pedal come through.

  • i like their rendition of this song but they messed up live.. jack's playing it too fast for her to catch up.. still nice..
