In the next update they will. Also you must have been looking in the forrest biome. They havnt added jungles yet. Good luck for when they come out, though!

Do slimes really spawn in jungles above ground? I couldn't find any!

Zombies and skeletons will also flee towards water so when you wake up and go to your pool, it'll be full of zombies.
