a stepper motor is easy to find they use them in printers and ya can find them in the trash all the time so ya can get them for free and use them to generate power to run lights on things like your bike or tractor sheesh

  • hello, iam using a little motor from a old remote controlled car, so would u just turn it to make voltage? iam doing that but nothing happens to the light iam using, lol.

  • @TheMadcroc23 it has to be a stepper motor from like a printer or something

  • Hey Chris there are 4 windings on that stepper You should be able to get voltage for more than just one winding.

  • @X2YeZCAMCNC ya i tried the other spots to stick the wire but the power was only real good on one set of antlers eigh but it would work for tail lights though eigh

  • Does it matter if it's a DC or an AC motor?

  • why not just strap the flashlight to the tractor? lol

  • i want to do a set up kinda like this for my gas powered bike project but the only thing i can think is bad. once the stepper stops turning no more power, is there any way you hook up a little battery , maybe a rechargeable aa inside of the flash light ? any ideas would be helpful

  • You can make a generator out of a stepper motor, sweet.

I didn't even there were things like stepper motors until yesterday when I took apart an old scanner/printer. I looked them up on wikipedia and kinda lost interest when I found out you need a driver IC or something to run 'em but this video gave me some idea's, thanks.
