  • I think it's sick to cut the tail of because of the dogs look. The look a human wants.. Thats SICK..

  • Tbh someone who promotes souljaboy in their name shouldn't be listened to, and ironically his comment is crap. Rottweilers DO have tails, but some people "dock" them because some like the look of it. They were originally cut off because the tails got in the way when they used to work, ages back. There is no need to dock them, but it's just what people do nowadays.

  • how old is she . cause mine is 11 months and she`s getting horny I don`t really know if its time to breeding

  • i have owned both.. a rottie with a docked tail.. and currently i have a gurl with a full tail.. most European imported dogs will have tails .. it is the law not to dock ... and some breeders adhere to the german standard (which at this point has a tail)..

either way.. they are beautiful dogs.. but i have to say, while it took some getting used to .. i've come to enjoy the thump of her tail when she is happy.. just my opinion...

  • It's amazing how so many people are against the docking of a tail. If they have that much of a problem with it, take it up with the CKC and AKC. Write to your local politicians, or other law makers. Don't waste space on here because it won't do anyone any good. My Rottie doesn't have his tail, but the father does. It's these associations that make the rules.

  • Most working dogs tails were cut, including livestock dogs, hunting dogs, and rodent hunters. Such as Aussie Shepherds, Bulldogs, Terriers, Pointers, some Setters, Spaniels, and many other breeds. If these hunting dogs dont have tails the tail cant make noise in the long grass when they are pointing birds and scare them away. The ratters couldnt have their tails bitten by rats (rats form huge attacks on dogs) and livestock dogs had many benefits from not having tails (see comment below on Rotties)

  • They were cut in history because they were cattle dogs and the build up of manure in their long tails caused spinal problems from the weight and also it would cause the tail to bang the back legs and cause injury. I suppose a cow accidentally stepping on the taiil would not be good either. Having no tail also put their weight on the front end and allowed them to trot for hours! A tail on a Rottie living indoors was not suitible because too many things got knocked over.

  • rottweilers are beautiful when they have tail !

  • Rottweilers used to have their tales docked not because it made them look tough, but because one of their original purposes was to pull small carts (like apple carts) and a lot of them would break the tails in a process. now that majority of rottweilers are not in a cart pulling business - tail docking is no longer necessary (though through generations of breeding for features other then strong tails, they don't look uniform and some of them are fragile) docking is banned in several countries.

  • no thats not true, they are all born with a tail and they used to be cut off cause they were working dogs and it got in the way. now they're just cut off for looks i guess. but no puppies are ever born without a tail

  • What I've heard some puppies is born without tail. And some of them become deformed beacuse of the human experiment..

    If that's true, it's sick..

Dogs have a tail because they need it.. Let them keep their tails.. =/
