The date was July 9th, 1986. Fourth seeded Dave Husted beat Dale Eagle, Sam Maccarone, and Purvis Granger in his previous three matches. His next opponent was Bobby Jacks, a lefty who last won a PBA title way back in 1966. This event took place at Golden Pin Lanes, a bowling center managed by ABC Hall of Famer Pete Tountas. Here's part 2 of the championship match.
@crazychuck75 I went on the PBA website and see he's listed amongst the pros who have won 3 titles. My theory is that the PBA stripped him of his titles a couple of years ago, then all the outrage made them reinstate the titles. Then they asked bowl.com to remove the article due to the bad publicity it would generate for the PBA.

@crazychuck75 I wouldn't be a bit surprised if bowl.com themselves removed the article. It could be because of the outrage over it. If I were you, I'd write to the PBA and ask them what the deal is. I wish you luck, though.

@crazychuck75 If you Google "The Legend of Bobby Jacks", there WAS an article about him. Now I see it's gone. Anyway, the article says that the PBA stripped him of his titles due to his off lanes life. This is OUTRAGEOUS. It doesn't surprise me though, because that's the mentality of the PBA and the bowling community in general. Any organization that fines its bowlers $100 for going over 25 seconds before making a shot on TV, then $1,000 for a second offense...says it all.

@brgvt97 What did you find because I found nothing. I am a relative of his and I have not heard this. I know that he did things in his life that were very questionable but I have not found any evidence of this. I only met him a few times in the early 80's when I was 6 or seven. I only know what I hear, but I didn't hear that the pba stripped his tittles.

I heard the PBA stripped Bobby Jacks of his 3 titles he won in 1966. The reason? Google it. Unbelievable.
