This so messed up like a cookie could make a kid's health better

this was around 30 years ago and back then they werent as into telling kids the truth about sensitive issues like prem babies or things like that. it was just a way to sell stuff to kids. what child would watch a commercial of their favourite doll and want it after hearing "well you were a prem baby and you nearly died but thanks to all those helpful doctors, we managed to save your life". children wouldnt understand something that complex so they dumb it waaaay down to grandmas cooking.

Cracked, why do you keep wasting our time in a good way?

I was a preemie and I survived

So that grandmother devised a recipe for cookies that can stabilize the health premature babies and ensure they grow up healthy? Shit, that wouldn't even be limited to the premature babies of rich parents or the 1st World. Anywhere where they can spare a little bit of cookie dough (So like, anywhere except maybe N. Korea or Zimbabwe etc.) could ensure preemies survive.
WHERE THE FUCK IS THIS OLD LADY'S NOBEL PRIZE?

Wow. Just why. Why did they even feel the need to make this.
It's like introducing kids to the fact of infant death when it's completely unnecessary.
I mean Jesus, if something causes them to learn about premature babies, then fair enough, but you really don't need to inform them about it when there's no need. Possible baby death isn't exactly fucking child-friendly.
cracked sent me here.

I'm a NICU nurse. My job would be so much easier if all we ever had to do was give the babies extra cookies.... forget strict fluid balances, or trying to keep their brains from bleeding, or keeping their blood pressure up, or trying to keep their under developed lungs from collapsing entirely. Nahhh, none of that matters. Just give them a damn oreo.
