In most home lawns, the natural soil has been seriously disturbed by the building process. Fertile topsoil may have been removed or buried during excavation of the basement or footings, leaving subsoil that is more compact, higher in clay content and less desirable for healthy lawn growth. These lawns need core aeration to improve the depth and extent of turf grass rooting and to improve fertilizer and water use.

  • I need to get this done badly, but I think I live too far away. Is the Killeen/Harker Heights area too far away?

  • @EJConrad i think it was. im pretty sure it was

  • @angelicsnoww Are you sure that the pool is "cracked"?

  • @removesstains Do it in the Spring. Its also helpful to do it in the fall but spring is the most imporant time. If your soil is compact you'll want to do it more often to loosen it up. You can rent the machines. I bought kit for my tiller that converts it into a coring aerator (replaces the tines with coreing aerator plugs).

  • Can you recommend someone in the DFW area, specifically Arlington? Also whens the best time of year to do this?
