  • They are both amazing players. None is better then the other. They play different styles. You can't compare.

  • Bob McChesney is light years beyond a good high school player -- what an ignorant comment. But Elliot Mason IS amazing.

  • @jazztrbn77 I agree.

  • Bob is killin' it...pretty sure the tune is "I Love You." Been sheddin' his book lately...good stuff

  • so hard to find mchesney, thank you so much!

  • @MCroach1 yummy yummy

  • Bob McChesney can play as fast on the trombone as anyone who has ever walked the planet. And he does so musically. And he's a very nice guy.

  • crappy video unless you are doing a French's mustard commercial. Bob McChesney's playing is mindblowing. Pushing what was once felt impossible on trombone beyond all comprehensible limits.

  • burning! Just burning.

  • no problemt man, I'm envious you get to study with Bob, my previous mentor Ernie Carlson always spoke highly of him. I understand he's gotta have theory out his ears to play what he plays, but I was proving a different point I suppose.

I'm currently studying with Julian Priester, not a doodler but still a master! all the best man

  • apologies, didn't mean to insult you. in fact, its likely im more a kid than yourself, that just happens to be an expression i use all too frequently. Anyway, what I mean by this is that Bob's musical knowledge is immense, I know because I take lessons with him on a regular basis (blows my mind every time). And doodle tonguing, while it is not theory in itself, is a tool for articulating whatever expression the player might desire. Think of it as a fine tipped paintbrush, as opposed to a roller.
