This song gives me chills every time I hear it. Dan was an unbelievable talent gone much too soon. Fortunately, his music will live forever. His songs are a gift to us, and he used the talent God gave him to the fullest. May we all be so lucky.

He wrote this song with the love of my life in mind. To this day, 30+ years later it's about us Jules. I will always love you. Always. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you. Spectacular post...thanks. Anyone who has never listened to these words, stop and take a real listen. Exiles was a brilliant album from one of the better performers of his generations. Dan was also active in his community and in many "save the wilderness" type charities...

Thanks for posting this. I stumbled accross this song while puting together a CD from my files to note and help me get in touch with the emotion associated with the loss of my 12 year relationship...Dan's words are almost an exact fit. I could barely read the lines for my tears. djm
