Fantastic! The best Te Deum ever.
-
I agree completely. 'Never mind the music, just listen to my orchestra!'

@Pitonznz Soloists were soprano Janet Perry, alto Helga Müller-Molinari, tenor Gösta Winbergh (unfortunately passed away in 2002) and bass Alexander Malta.

Do I hear voices in the backround. I do.

So powerful ! The choir, the orchestra, the solists... OMG I absolutely love this performance.

@justinbieberforking your comment is very primitive because you've any good knowledge about music

Who coulld ever believe that such grand powerful sounds came from the mind of a shy humble man whose appearance was that of a farmer whose clothes never looked right on him!
-
Kegel, Rögner and Jochum all recorded better, less bombastic, more transparent versions.
-
The orchestra is too loud...they should accompany the voices, not the other way around
-
coming back, I remember my conductor referring to this one as "the screamer" LOL

am i deaf or sounds the tenor like luciano?

The tenor is Gosta Winbergh

there might be something wrong about this recording. karajan usually takes the 1st and last movement slower than this. Is it really karajan, the conductor here? His recording with wiener philharmoniker from 80s for example, 1st movement is 7 minutes long!

The Conductor indicated on the Deutsche Grammophone CD is Karajan,The year of edition is 1985(Polydor intl GmbH).
The time is less than 7'10" for 1st movement and 7'13"for the last movement because the software to upload has cutted the saving before the ends.
