That 1984 car was so beautiful (and the fastest among all of them), but soooooo unreliable... too bad he lost that year to the McLarens. I prayed all the year for the engine to keep up until the last lat, but...
And the 1985 Brabham was also very fast, but the Pirelli tyres just blew everything up.

Piquet was a true warrior. Having survived the dreaded turbo era alive, was a feat in itself- not to mention three World Championships! He stands as one of my most favorite F1 pilots. I remember seeing him race in Detroit 1984- I couldn't believe Brabham went through almost eight turbo BMW engines that entire weekend! Their paddock had engines strewn about everywhere. Memorable....
