Ain't No Stressin with Max Louie covering the male vocals.
Video 2 of my Video-A-Week project.
After the success of Good Vibes, Max Louie called on me again to help him make another music video. This time, it was for the Step Up 2 contest, held on Myspace. It was a singing contest, the winner getting a record deal for the Step Up 2 movie soundtrack.
Male contestants were given a track that included a pre-recorded female vocalist and a rapper. The rules were to fill in the male vocalist's voice and submit a video recorded performance of it.
Max insisted that we should make a full blown music video for this. He found a club for us to shoot at, and got several of his friends to appear as background dancers. I cameo as well, of course, as the DJ.
The whole thing was shot in 1 hour and I honestly had no idea what I was shooting or how it was all going to come out. I didn't have enough time to prepare and my priority was graduating and getting my degree. I just tried to trust that I could pull it together in editing.
Unfortunately, since we never heard back from Step Up 2, we believe Max was disqualified from the contest because he was not supposed to submit a full blown music video with extras. All the contestants who made it to the finals submitted videos of them sitting in their living rooms singing to the camera.
But no worries, here's the video for you all to check out anyway!
And by the way, yes that is Max's voice and yes he can sing that high of a key.
Entertainment-wise, I'm not all that satisfied with it. Right now it just looks like your run of the mill BET music video. If I had more time, I would have wanted to work a story into the video to make it more interesting, but oh well.
Lastly, yeah it's a cop-out cause this is supposed to be video-a-week and I did this video months ago but too bad!
