A tribute video for the very underrated contemporary actress: Laurie Metcalf (performance as Marcie Dahlgren-Frost) in one of the last of the 80's films directed by the late legendary film writer/director: John Hughes (1950-2009) in the film Uncle Buck -circa1989.

This video is a montage of the humorous interactions that Marcie (the neighbor across the street), and Buck Russell (John Candy) encounter, as she imposes her neurotic spousal divorced boredom onto the un-receiving "Uncle Buck" who was displaced into care taking for his Brother's children.

All clips and scenes mostly feature Marcie, and her quirky odd expressions of a seemingly medicated personality, all while played to the tune of "Polite Dance" performed by the indie/alternative duo band: the Bird and the Bee.

It's the first music video I've made -so please be sure to rate it!

Thanks for watching.

  • could you not overpower the movie speech with bad music? thanks.

  • @MitchH452 yeah this music video was my first attempt, and not as good by far as others I've done. Check out my channel and look at some of the others I've done. Especially "Young Guns (Peyote Scene) - If I Had A Heart (Fever Ray)", and maybe "Cherry 2000 - Erase and Rewind (gets the most views)", and let me know what you think.

    Thanks for commenting -Reuben

  • i love how he keeps dancing when she walks in

  • great video! love Uncle Buck and Marcy!

  • I never knew this was the lady who played Jackie on Roseanne. Doesn't look the same when she has a different hair style and actually wears make-up and a fur coat, rather that plaid shirts and jeans all the time.

  • MILF.

  • wanted to emphasize only her in this video, and the amount of footage was pretty short, so had to kind of be redundant in many places (yeah I know its a little over the top)

  • Great tribute and clip! I wouldn't say she's underrated, as she won three emmys in a row for Roseanne, but I agree that, with the right roles, she could easily win an Oscar. I fell in love with her on Roseanne, and have been following her career ever since. I like that she takes good roles, big or small.

  • damn shes pretty good looking
