Note this demo shows an early prototype, visit www.trackace.co.uk to see final design and an appeal from the inventor for feedback. Trackace is the Worlds first laser accurate wheel alignment gauge designed specifically for home use and storage. For a low cost it allows the reassurance of a quick and easy, yet very accurate wheel alignment check at home, so only pay for adjustments when you know for sure they are required and then check you have the accurate alignment youve paid for. It also allows DIY motorists to save even more avoiding ever having to pay for alignment checks and adjustment charges again. Just a 2 degrees misalignment wastes around a staggering 10% of fuel and if left uncorrected can half the life of the tyres/tires.

  • Can't do caster and camber.

  • @jjenson2006 Probably because it is not a camber gauge, it's a DIY tracking gauge, unsurprisingly my DIY camber gauge can't do tracking.

  • Nice idea but surely this only aligns 1 wheel to the other and not align either wheel to the dead straight position. If you put the steering wheel at dead centre and measure that as zero and align the other wheel to it, what happens if the is off initially?

The idea makes the assumption that the wheel you take the 1st reading from is aligned correctly where it might be the other one that, in this instance, the gauge says needs adjusting. Then the car would veer with the steering wheel straight.

  • @selfsilent Thanks for your interest in using a Trackace. Trackace offers the same diagnosis as Dunlop & Sealy gauges at up to £600 only more reliably accurate as it is recalibrated at every use with a great distance of laser travel at calibration to the left hand wheel. Dunlop & Sealy equivalents are stood against each other with much less laser travel to pre-calibrate, meaning higher risk of error, if pre-calibration is carried out at all.

  • How much will this retail?

The price has to be in the region of the tracrite.

  • @2485dan The present costs indicate a retail price of £85 should be enough to attract distributors and then retailers yet still be a cost effective purchase for the end user. Against average prices of checks and adjustments coupled with fuel and tyre savings a Trackace can pay for itself by its second use, potentially in one day for a two car household and with the added reassurance of laser accuracy.

  • @TrackaceGauge do you have to set the guage to 0 to get the right tracking on the car on both sides

  • Interesting little piece if kit this! Have you performed any back to back tests with this and other forms of tracking gauge such as the humble 'dunlop gauges' and the sort of laser aligning equipment found in dealerships?

  • what language is this?

  • @anash73 , thanks for asking, we are aiming to launch the retail product form 14 March 2011, through our website.
