  • is the monitor in front of a mirror??

  • @RaulBillieJean

Yep. Both the upright and the sitdown have mirrors with blacklight backgrounds. Mini and cocktail don't.

  • I used to play this a lot back in the day. My scores were much higher than the high scores listed in Joystick magazine at the time. I would put my initials as the all time high score on every machine I played. I played the upright, didn't care much for sitdown version.

  • yes! you are a God. I was the Jedi-Master of this game in 1980-81 with all my quarters. i turned it over = a few thousand over 999,999 i have witnesses. anyway i went on to become a programmer and i would give $2,000 for a standup issue of this game.

by the way yes, the monitor is a reflection on the standup model.

  • Please come fix mine!!

  • I played so many quarters into Omega Race that if added up today I would not admit it in public! Several years ago, I purchased a mint upright console that is sitting about three feet from me as I type this. IMHO, this was a very underrated game for its time. To this day, the black light effects of the console and the action of the game have not been matched for its addictive nature. They did a lot for the tech of the time in sucking in those quarters!

  • Prob my fave classic machine next to TRON. I have fond memories of playing this sucker at Showbiz Pizza back in the early 80s. I would die to have one of these, for sure. Congrats on getting that baby to work!

  • This is a beautiful machine! Thank you for saving it and restoring it. My most favorite game ever was always my first Omega Race cartridge on my Vic-20. I would so love the opportunity to see one of these original upright machines in real life and get to play it even just once. The artwork is just beautiful!. Thank you for allowing me to see it on YouTube!. ~Ken~

  • why you think they want you to look at a mirror instead of looking directing at the monitor?
