i absolutely agree with you. it's kinda like creating a symbol for 'bi-peds'. as atheists we all have only one thing in common that we know of, and anything after that requires mutual discovery. and 'atheism is a religion' is a tiring argument when it's with the willfully ignorant, so yeah, a symbol would only bolster the idea.
