The fedora doesn't even really exist in the books either except in the cover art.

The Jeep serves the same purpose as the Beetle. It's old, doesn't have a great deal of technology in it. It's just more merciful. You see, Paul Blackthorne (like the real Harry) is over six feet tall. So several hours of filming in a Beetle would have seriously hurt his and Terrence Mann (also six feet tall) backs. Not to mention Beetle parts are expensive. The Jeep served the same purpose and was kinder to the actors' spines. I also feel the ghost works better than a skull.

Why would anyone want a talking skull? Buddy, go watch the original two hour Storm Front and then claim the talking skull is better. What works in a book doesn't always work in a TV show. The ghost is an improvement. I was actually disappointed Hrothbert of Bainbridge doesn't exist like that in the books.

I wish the show had lasted long enough to give us their own version of Thomas Raith. I love him.

Wow. Just wow. I can't imagine ANYONE wanting a cheesy CGI Skull Puppet in place of the stage icon they got to play the ghostly version of Bob. I mean... why? Just because it was a talking skull in the book doesn't automatically make it better. Do a google Search. Hrothbert of Bainbridge (the ghost version of Bob) has a far larger following than that cheesy skull ever did. The sarcasm and lechery is in tact but the character IS vastly improved.

Ironically a skinwalker was the big bad of the last book. Just because it's different doesn't make the show bad.
