@QnWorks The good thing is the CGI isn't all shiny like some other anime. It really blends in with the animated characters and such that it could be mistaken for animation :D

@NoobSnoopy they always had, but usually you cant see them under the armor (there is one episode- the one after shinjis eva eats the S² unit it is shown in its hangar with a part of the armor missing revealing a greenish eye which looks like a human one but much bigger)

From the looks of this, the only thing this has on the original is newer anime style (as in it looks more modern)

I think noone likes 3D.
But its way more sipler for the studio to make it with CGI than drawing it. Those buildings moving would be a pain in the ass to draw from that perspective and it would porbably look bad.
At least the EVAs and the characters are not CGI animated :D
