Joe Beninati is truly great! If anyone is at all annoying to listen to it's Doc Emrick. The guy talks way too much and he doesn't leave enough room for his partner to have a substantial amount of say during the games that he broadcasts.

I dont understand all the hate Joe gets...I never see him really being that unbiased when he calls Caps games on Versus. He obviously would know a little more about the Caps than the other team and is able to give a little more insight into their game, but I never see a clear bias.
Yeah maybe his voice is a little strange for play by play, but thats the only knock on him I can think of.

He's exciting if your a caps fan. Ever since Ovechkin came into the league he became the voice noticeable in Ovies highlights. I love Beninati but he has become a huge homer for the Caps, and thats why I think some people don't like him. If you listen to him on air you can tell he puts more emphasis on the Caps then the opposing team. Not saying hes a bad announcer. Jack Edwards for the Bruins does the same thing and everyone outside of New England hates him haha. I love Edwards. He's clever.
