I am big fan of Guru dutt. He was great director.
Today,In Our Movie We Only see foreign location,Double meaning,So many Moronic drones actor/actress.
Levity/ Remakes of film is one proof that how the worst position of indian cinema.

У индийского кино огромный потенциал-немое кино давно не существует,но в исполнении артистов Болливуда оно живо.

waqt ne kiya kya hasin sitam... ham rahe na hum tum rahe na tum... something realistic... :(

@rinkichamkar ... so so true
-
there is something i found intriguing when raj kapoor made "mera naam joker"the film failed
when "kagaz ka phool"was made it also failed
both directors invested their heart in it
people don't like the ugly truth
-
people dont hv heart now a days,,,everyone is cunning, clever and fast,,,,,thats why

yesterday i wtched pyaasa and i thght hv seen one of the best movie of my life; then i wtched kaagaz ke phool today itself and to me its even more hard hitting than pyaasa. im in love with guru dutt..his charisma..his mere presence on the screen. but today why has our movie industry degenerated to such a low level..why?
-
guess gru dutt sahab bought real time theatre into movies, the movie never did end it just kept playing back to back in your mind.
-
What size lens did he use??
Great cinematography

More compelling once you learn Of Geetas marriage to Guru Dutt and him then falling for Ms. Rahman in ral life.
Can you imagine what wonders would have been created if he'd later been able to do a full film in colour?
A man that was beyond is time coupled with prophetic lyrics that resonate today nd acting and photography forever embedded upon ones heart and mind.
If one made such fluid poetry today would people go to watch? Unfortunately I doubt it.
Thanks for the memories Guru Saab.

From 1:33 , Guru Dutt looks like Orson Welles .... Truly the real genius in Indian Cinema.
I know I will get into trouble for this but in my humble opinion, Guru Dutt was far better than Raj Kapoor because he resisted, to the last, the tug of insulting the viewers' intelligence .... You hardly saw frivolity in his movies (except Mr. and Mrs. 55 and even that was an intelligent comedy)
