Yey, I've got 3333 subscribers. Now let's get you more involved! Make a origami-related video response or post an origami poem as a comment. The deadline is 22nd September. I'll then pick a "winner", who can then decide which model I'll be demonstrating next. I'll announce the "winner" on the 24th September, 6 PST during my live interview at http://www.luvchat.com

  • what paper did you use for the jack in the box in the video

  • I used a sheet of normal origami paper (kami), 35cm by 17.5cm.

  • Hi Sara! I love your tutorials and find them very useful :) I was just wondering where you put all of your models? I like making origami and it's EVERYWHERE!!!!! Just asking. Please respond, and happy folding lol!

  • I know this might sound blasphemous - but I throw away most of the stuff I folded after a while. The stuff I'm kind of fond of I usually keep in boxes, or on the top of my paper shelf. When I moved from England to Germany I basically only keep my tessellations and a few selected pieces. So right now my collection is relatively small.

  • origami is cool

    like chillin at the pool

you make anything out of paper

    mabey even a light saber

you use many folds in this art

its not a normal fine art

so if you see some paper,

you should fold it fold it

    FOLD IT!

  • Actually, I think there is a light saber model out there. :)

  • Dear Sara:

Could you make the magic ball? Here's my Poem

Modular origami is the best of all,

My favorite one is the magic ball.

Attempting to make it not so easy!

Please make a tutorial, PLEASE!!! :)

  • I hate rhyming, so I free-versed something in about 5 minutes.

6 units, each with a strange x-like shape

All different colors, with no perceivable pattern,

Connected at the joints, so tight that nothing can break it.

    Not throwing, kicking, pulling,

    Not freezing, soaking, burning,

Not the teeth of a lion, or the foot of an elephant,

Even in the heat of the sun, it will not pull apart.

Maybe thats a slight hyperbole, but it is a powerful modular with a squishy name:

    Jelly Ball
