In Manchester they're "scallies" & they're more like what Americans would call "white trash" than "Preps" except all races. Not all Scally's are violent, but most I've come across have been and that was 50% of my school. Alot are just sheep though - so if the media and the leader say they're violent and they copy that image, well that's probably why most come across as violent. They're usually working class kids who think they're hard and generally come from less than privileged backgrounds.
