  • ? 4u or anybody that can help cld ne body tell me wht is the differnce between a electric blue jack dempsey& a powder blue jack dempsey i notice tht the baby blue jacks here were i live r manly white with light blue n organge&black speckales or short lines. im tryn2 figure it out how does such light color turn so dark blue or r this real ebjd differnt from powder blue jack dempsey if u could help id apreciate or send me a pic2my email of a real baby ebjd so i can c jacksonjones402@yahoo.com

  • @jacksonjones402 I'm not for sure but I think they are the same fish....possibly the powder blue is a weaker gene of the Electric Blue....Most Electric Blue I seen they start out light in color and the blue will darken with age.

  • are these guys good for a community tank? its an 85 gallon and was thinking about getting some EBJD and EBC's

  • @TheMysteryman334 the EBJD's seem to be less aggressive then a electric yellow would be, just make sure if you put EBJD in the tank make sure they are the biggest fish at least starting out, I lost all but 1 of mine due to other fish that were a tad bit bigger that killed them

  • great video, I recently purchased what I was told was an EBJD but it is not as light as the ones that you have. Does that mean that it is a blue gene jack dempsey? I have never heard of this variant before honestly. what is the difference between the two?

  • @m1ste2tea there are different variations in the colors of EBJD I think certain strains make the difference of a lighter or darker EBJD some I have seen are a darker blue and some are a light blue, the Blue gene look more like a regular JD.

the EB was developed through selective breeding to get that color but for them to reproduce you have to breed a EB with a reg. JD and then the offspring carry the blue gene. there are lots of pages on care and such for them.

  • Insane! You have an awesome collection there! I've been through three EBJD's. One died of some mysterious sickness that caused it to stop eating, and the other two were just weak. They were killed byy other fish. :( I own hoardes of cichlids now. I'm much more experienced with JD's now. I'd like to buy two if you, or anyone else is selling.

    Contact me at: leolux10@aol.com

    Thanks.

  • I'm working on gold ebjd's I'm on my third batch.

  • Striking dempseys

  • I would like to buy EBJD, please contact me by email laphuong39@gmail.com. Thanks

  • I need some more EBJD if anybody has some for sale let me kno

  • would you add a jack dempsey to a mumba tank?????????????

  • @Thelandlorddonkey for two jacks you need atleast a 75 gallon you are already over stocking, a full jack is almost a foot long, 10 inches is the max for them.

  • @jacksonjones402

There is only the ELECTRIC BLUE JACK DEMPSEY. Some call it Powder blue jack Dempsey or Neon Blue for marketing purposes. The other variant from the regular Jack Dempsey is the Gold Jack Dempsey.

SO, there is a normal Jack Dempsey, Electric blue Jack Dempsey, and Gold Jack Dempsey. That is it.
