There are ways and ways to make coffee and varieties and varieties of coffee making equipments available in the market ..i have tried out quite a few and have found one method of making coffee which works well for me .. and im sharing it here for those of you coffee lovers who would like to try .. here is how I do it : I take about 250 gms of coffee powder ground into a coarse powder ( i blend 40:40:20 of peabury:arabica:chicory roasted seeds bought out ) add it into one liter of cold water and heat the water to about 90 degrees heat ( you ll know because thats when it starts to go over ) ; i turn off the heat and wait for a few minutes till the coffee powder begins to settle down , then pour it onto a filter cloth which is tied over a vessel ( as shown in the video ) and allow the coffee to filter out; then i squeeze out the remaining decoction from the cloth store the decoction ( you can store it for a few days in a fridge ) ; then to make coffee i heat milk to a boil ( ONLY THE MILK, NOT COFFEE DECOCTION ) and pour it into a tumbler containing about 3 table spoons of the decoction and sugar .. i stir the sugar and pour the resulting coffee into a small vessel from a height so that the coffee gets areated and foaming and then
DRINK !
Note: If the milk is too rich then dilute it a bit.. you dont want your coffee to taste too milky .. this holds mainly for milk in the USA where I had found the milk could be diluted by adding 25% water ...

  • wow... thanks for sharing that... I'll be over in the morning... I will make breakfast... LOL... I brew beer... and it is not a good idea to squeeze the grains once they are steeped... have you ever made your coffee without squeezing the filtered material? Does it make a difference?

  • @chyrd i do agree that the taste would be markedly better if the grains are not squeezed out after steeping, but the coffee would be much much more expensive, and this becomes a point of compromise for someone who loves to have atleast one liter of coffee every day ( like me ! ) thanks for your remark, its valuable .. cheers !:-)

  • dont u put chocolate powder over it in a typical south indian coffee ?!

  • @priyamvada1979 some people do, especially if they find the flavour less than acceptable, but it is not the rule ....cheers ! :-)

  • As coffee dehydrates drinkers, is it therefore good for people?

  • never heard that coffee dehydrates drinkers .. and if that were true, i should have been fully and thoroughly dehydrated by now, ( i dont think i am, though ) because i have been drinking lots and lots of coffee since i was about a year old, cheers ! :-)

  • Had my first cup of South Indian style coffee yesterday at a friend's house and I found it to be as good if not better than some of the Cappuccinos that I've had in Italy -- I'm hooked! Just out of curiosity though, what does the pouring back and forth do for the coffee? Thanks for the vid by the way!

  • thanks :-)

  • Hi , i've just tried this and yummy... my friends and I are enjoying it in Kuala Terengganu, Malaysia. Thanks mate.....

  • you are supposed to brew south indian coffee in small quantiites - in a drip filter. Not at all like this. I am not sure how much time you save given that a drip filter takes less than five minutes to brew coffee.

  • My wife is east Indian and her family is originally from Kerela - She introduced me to south Indian coffee and she essentially makes it the same way you do only she makes a bit larger quantity. I have to admit that it's the best coffee I've ever tasted, and I have been a lifelong American coffee drinker :-) Right now we are looking for someplace here in the USA where you can buy an east Indian coffee maker but I haven't seen any here. I suppose next time my wife makes a trip back home... Thanks!

  • yummy..

  • whow.. it looks really good. I am sure it tastes good too :) Thank you for the video.

  • Man.. i cant smell this in YouTube

  • OMG!!!! u should know y filter is used??!! the reason is it retains the AROMA in the coffee,.. thats y with in sec's lid will b closed .
