Contractors Taken On a "Ride" at Disney

The Orlando media is conducting an investigation about Disney and its operating participants who are systematically taking advantage of small contractors to improve their multi-billion dollar businesses—and not paying up.

Orlando Channel 9 uncovered nine different liens by contractors who said they're owed money for work they did on Disney property. That includes Total Concept Enterprises, an Orlando-based demolition company who has performed an improvement job for Regal Sun Resort Orlando- a Disney-operating participant.

Total Concept Enterprises says that until they get paid, they are watching their business crumble before their very eyes. Ironically, Regal Sun Resort, that has yet to pay Total Concepts, boasts about their renovated pool area on their site, saying that: "possibly the most impressive change to the Regal Sun Resort are our dramatic enhancements to our pool area."

The only response Total Concepts has received from the resorts' manager, Jay Leonard, about the pending payment was: "Go ahead—sue us—you won't see a penny."

This unethical practice of arrogant companies abusing their power at the expense of the small working companies must end.
