War Witness: Bombs on D-day in France

RT presents War Witness - a special project dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War. World War II veterans recount their stories about the war - from how it began to how it ended. André Heintz, Resistance member in Caen, France, remembers that after the first bombings on D-Day several of his friends, especially some belonging to the resistance, had been killed.

@CocaColaMan123941 Thats the problem with this generation, they could care less about how our past was shaped, or the problems that others had to overcome. The sad part is I am part of this generation, but feel like my time should have been before instead of now, I am a dying breed, and It saddens me that sooner or later people will stop caring about story's like these that RT is showing, and if we forget, who's to tell whether or not it will happen again.

@promdawg more people care then u actually think, the reason why people don't care as much is because they weren't there, and the fact that it was 70 years ago that these events happened makes people not as informed. People are more preoccupied with events that are happening TODAY, i'm not saying that people forget the veterans for what they did, I'm saying that everyone knows subconsciencely the sacrifices that many gave.
