@MrMaffen okay. can you give me a link to a form that shows waht software and files in suppoesed to use with the lg thrill or optimus. even information on how you did it with your optimus im sure i can find the opposite files for my thrill
-
@skootb2 i did the "easier method" with a lg optimus speed (it should however work on similar lg devices too). its simple to get the device into ready-to-flash mode. just follow the steps i explained in my last comment.

My phone restarts on 50% update process, and "OMAP driver found" problem continues on Windows. Any help?

i also got a communication problem when following your guide, but ive noticed that theres a way easier method to successfully flash the kdz file ... just turn your phone off, pull the battery, and while pushing the "vol down" button plug in the usb cable to your pc. the device will turn on... keep holding the vol down button till the screen displays "software upgrade mode" or something similar. let go off the button and start the flashing process. hope this helps

Getting a problem while trying to flash. My computer recognize the OMAP device, but the phone just giggles from connected to deconnected and never stays connected more then a second or two. Also when holding the power and volume up button phone just start or stop the "jiggling" but never vibrates nor stays connected. Am I totally bricked and have to go for warranty repair? tried many usb ports many wires and always the same problem...
There is no prior driver download that i know of. Also read a couple of posts down there is another way to do it

not if you already have done it once before. if the first time then yes... its safe so long as you dont interrupt any processes
